Gum Graft: Case 4: Ridgewood, NJ
Our patient found us online when previous treatments had failed. Previous methods had lackluster results and were very painful. You can see how long his teeth are and how the gums have altered coloration from previous procedures. The patient's primary concern was to get rid of his recession. Long teeth can make young people look older than they are. Unfortunately, this affects your day-to-day. Everything from smiling to speaking at events; people turn inward and stop smiling or engaging others. Biologically, having recession can result in exposed tooth structure which is weak. This leaves you open to cavities and even more breakdown of the structures that keep your teeth in the mouth. Here we performed a simple procedure which took less than 1 hour. Before repositioning the gums we created the optimal environment so the recession would not come back. Our first step was to remove the frenum, so the tissue would not be pulled on and recede further. The second step was to reposition the gums to get the maximum coverage. How does it feel? There is minimal to NO discomfort and you walk around looking normal almost immediately! You don't need to wait for failure to visit our office for treatment. Do it right the first time!
“Dr. Patil and his staff could not be more professional. They take the time to talk to you and explain what will be done. I am constantly surprised at how little pain is associated with the procedures they perform.” Jack T.
