Frenectomy (Gum Treatment): Case 1 Frenum Causing Recession
Often times, we have a tissue in our mouths which pulls on our gums. The pull can lead to recession on teeth and even breakdown the periodontal tissue (bone). It's ok! Everyone has this tissue pull, but sometimes the tissue is too close to the gums. In this case, we were able to remove the pull (frenum) with a simple procedure! Our patient does not have to worry about further breakdown of her gums! Our patient found us online after she noticed that she had a lot of recession showing in her teeth. Her goal was to stop the recession from worsening and over time have the gums rehabilitated with gum grafting. In this case, we have performed the first step in recovery - a frenectomy also known as a frenulectomy. She is completely ecstatic with the results so far!
“Dr. Patil and his staff could not be more professional. They take the time to talk to you and explain what will be done. I am constantly surprised at how little pain is associated with the procedures they perform.” Jack T.
